Jaycee Dugard's New Book: A Stolen Life

Jaycee Lee Dugard has written a new book: A Stolen Life: A Memoir.Hers is a very unique memoir because her life has not followed the normal patterns that most people's do. You see, Jaycee Dugard was kidnapped at the age of eleven and sadly, that was the end of her childhood. She was not allowed to utter her real name and was kept hidden in a ramshackle back yard compound for eighteen years. A sequence of events led to her rescue and she and her two daughters have been reunited with Jaycee's family. Jaycee is a remarkable young woman who insists she is not a victim but rather a survivor. Read her amazing story in A Stolen Life: A Memoir.

  2. Bless her heart. I watched the interview with Diane Sawyer and was first appalled that Diane Sawyer had the audacity to interview this poor girl after all she has been through. I wish she and her daughters could just have some peace. As for how she survived it, I am guessing that she learned the tools of self-reliance early on. Her father left the family, her step father had sent her away the year prior to her kidnapping, that is a lot for a child her age to deal with. I feel so sad for her that she can't even grieve that which was lost but admire her being able to pack up and move on with her life as she has done.
