Coleman's 28-Quart Cooler

Coleman's 28-quart cooler with hinged lid and handle is definitely a fabulous way to transport your perishable food.

If you are transporting potato salad or any other perishable items over a long distance, say to Grandma's house, the beach or a wedding reception, I would put it in a proper cooler with plenty of ice.

The cooler shown here is by Coleman, the manufacturer of my own cooler.  It will hold two 2-litre bottles upright. Sorry, that is how manufacturers talk about cooler size, in the size of pop cans and bottles.

I think it is a good size for carrying items like potato salad although they will have to be in a rectangular container, I expect and not a salad bowl. However, my own personal cooler by Coleman is considerably bigger because we use it for camping for a family of four.

Karen in New York says that this 28-quart cooler is a "Great size cooler for a weekend at the cabin. Reliable quality from Coleman...That's why we keep going back to this manufacturer for a product that we KNOW will be effective, efficient, and usable for years."

Coleman has produced a cooler for everyone and for every need.  You will likely need to own more than one! However you choose to do it, make sure you keep your potato salad and other perishables cold.

Nintendo's Wii Party Video Game

Have YOU Played Wii Party?

There are no other party video games on the market that offer the number of play options and variations that Wii Party does.

Wii Party features more than 13 games and 70 mini-games that you play in your living room as opposed to on your television screen.

The screen acts as your game board and you roll the dice to play the games.

You use the Wii remote controls to play the games in the real world with the results of game play contributing to your progress on the game board on your television.

Wii Party is a multi-player game, which features both competitive and cooperative gaming and is perfect for any gathering of up to four individuals. (You can accommodate larger gatherings by taking turns.)

Wii Party is rated E for Everyone and is suitable for children aged eight-years old and up. It is great family entertainment, with occasional slapstick violence called 'mild cartoon violence' and nothing graphic.

Most importantly, Wii Party is loads of family friendly fun.

If you are planning a party and you own Nintendo's Wii, you NEED the new game, Wii Party. I listened with interest recently as my 17-year old son and his female birthday guests had a blast in the basement playing this fun new video game.

Amazon customer Kaio said, "Bottom Line -- Just like Sports Resort, Wii Party is definitely a game I'll come back to again and again! Literally hours and hours of fun to be had here...I love Wii Party and can't say enough good about it! What a blast!"

Walt Disney Animation Studios Artist Showcase Book: Bug Zoo by Andy Harkness

I am always fascinated by the opportunity to look behind the scenes at how something beautiful is made. In this case, a short video from the animation folks at Disney allows us to see how artist Andy Harkness put together the children's picture book Bug Zoo.

Bug Zoo tells the story of a little boy who collects bugs and creates his own zoo. He loves bugs, "armored, teeny, leggy, greenie, floaty, wingy, jumpy, springy bugs!" He is very happy with his zoo but what about the bugs? How happy are they?

The story was written by Lisa Wheeler and illustrated by Harkness, a Disney animator who has also worked on many other Disney projects including Pocahontas, Mulan, Lilo and Stitch, Brother Bear, Tangled and Frozen as well as some short films. The book has 40 pages and is recommended for children aged three to five though of course older children who love bugs will enjoy this story, too. I love the fact that the bugs in this book are based on real bugs.  The Disney blog calls Bug Zoo an "uncanny mixture of Eric Carle’s The Very Hungry Caterpillar and Wallace and Gromit." I call it beautiful.

Watch for yourself this short video, The Making of Bug Zoo, and see how Harkness used clay models to create this children's book:
